Description
Product Overview
The Bently Nevada 330104-00-15-10-01-CN is a high-performance 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probe designed for precision vibration and position monitoring in industrial rotating machinery. Proudly Made in the U.S.A., this model features a metric M10 x 1 thread and integrated stainless steel armor for superior mechanical protection. Engineered with a specialized Viton® O-ring, it effectively seals differential pressure between the probe tip and case. This configuration includes a ClickLoc connector with a dedicated protector, ensuring long-term signal stability and compliance with country-specific agency approvals (-CN).

Mechanical Design & Operational Benefits
1. Compact Metric Housing: With a 15 mm overall case length and no unthreaded portion, this probe is ideal for shallow mounting requirements where space is at a premium. The M10 x 1 threads allow for precise depth adjustment to reach the optimal gap setting. Despite its compact size, the assembly is robust, weighing in at a typical system weight of approximately 14 to 150 g depending on final cabling.
2. Armored Environmental Protection: This model is equipped with stainless steel armor over the 1.0-meter cable. This shielding prevents mechanical wear, abrasion, and damage from debris in harsh turbine or compressor environments. The internal Viton® O-ring provides a differential pressure seal, ensuring the sensor's integrity when mounted in pressurized casings.
3. ClickLoc Connectivity: The gold-plated miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector is paired with a connector protector. This combination seals the connection against moisture and oil mist, maintaining a low-resistance path (Output Resistance: 50 Ω) to the Proximitor Sensor for accurate signal transmission.
Installation Guidelines
Gap Setting: The recommended installation gap is 1.27 mm (50 mils) for a standard AISI 4140 steel target. This centers the probe within its 80 mil linear range. Using a -24 Vdc power supply is standard; operating at more positive voltages than -23.5 Vdc can result in a reduced linear range.
Torque Limits: For M10 x 1 threaded cases, the recommended installation torque is 11.3 N•m (100 in•lb). Do not exceed the maximum rated torque of 33.9 N•m to avoid damaging the PPS tip or the stainless steel threads.
Cable Management: To maintain frequency response and signal integrity, the maximum field wiring length between the Proximitor Sensor and the monitor should be limited to 305 meters (1,000 feet) using 3-conductor shielded triad cable.
Technical FAQs
Q: Is this 8 mm probe compatible with 5 mm extension cables?
A: Yes, the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is designed to accept both 3300-series 5 mm and 3300 XL 8 mm probes and extension cables.
Q: What is the benefit of the PPS tip material?
A: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a high-performance thermoplastic that offers exceptional chemical resistance and mechanical strength, protecting the internal coil from harsh process fluids.
Q: Can I use this probe with a non-steel target?
A: While it will function, system accuracy and interchangeability specifications only apply when used with an AISI 4140 steel target. Other targets will require custom calibration.
