Functional Description
The ECTB board supports excitation contact outputs and contact inputs for the EX2100 excitation control system. It contains two trip contact outputs for customer lockout drivers and four general-purpose Form-C relay contact outputs controlled by the EMIO board. Six auxiliary contact inputs are wetted with 70V DC, and the 52G and 86G contact inputs are also powered and monitored.
Relay Control and Feedback
| Relay Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Trip Relay Outputs | K1M1, K2M1 driven by EMIO in M1. Two parallel normally closed contacts per lockout. |
| General Purpose Relays | K1GP, K2GP, K3GP, K4GP. Form-C type with NO, NC, common terminals. |
Contact Inputs
- Six customer-supplied auxiliary contact inputs powered and monitored using 70V DC.
- 52G contact input monitored with 70V DC excitation.
- 86G contact input wetted with 70V DC.
- Red LED indicates contact state for each input.
- Inputs fanned to M1, M2, and C controllers (M1 only in simplex).
Connectors and Interface
- J405, J408, J415: 25-pin sub-D connectors for cables to EBKP backplane (EMIO boards M1, M2, C).
- J13M1, J13M2: Plugs bringing 70V DC for contact wetting from M1 and M2 power supplies.
- TB1, TB2: Removable terminal blocks held with two screws.
Installation
- Board is used in simplex mode only (G2 version).
- Managed by EMIO board which collects inputs/outputs and sends logic level gate pulse signals over backplane to ESEL board.
- Verify 24V DC relay control voltage from M1 controller.
- Customer power should be 125V DC nominal.
- Wetting voltage range: 63-84V DC from EPSM module.
Technical FAQs
