Installation Guide

Mount the module in any Series 90-30 rack slot. Apply input voltages between 90 and 150 VDC to guarantee an ON state. Keep input voltage below 150 VDC to prevent damage. The module supports both positive and negative logic wiring. 1500V field-to-logic isolation protects the backplane from high-voltage transients.

Engineering Advantages

The IC693MDL632 handles high-voltage DC inputs up to 150 VDC. Group-to-group isolation at 500 V prevents crosstalk between input channels. The 3.1 mA minimum on-state current ensures reliable triggering even with degraded field devices. Positive and negative logic support eliminates rewiring when changing field device types.

FAQs

Q1: What is the difference between positive and negative logic?
A1: Positive logic turns the input ON when the input terminal receives +VDC relative to common. Negative logic turns ON when the common receives +VDC and the input terminal goes to 0V.

Q2: Can this module accept 24 VDC signals?
A2: No. 24 VDC falls below the 90 VDC on-state threshold. The module requires 90-150 VDC for reliable operation.

Q3: What happens if input voltage is between 30 and 90 VDC?
A3: Operation is undefined. The module may not reliably detect an ON or OFF state. Stay below 30 VDC for OFF and above 90 VDC for ON.
