Installation Guide
Set initial probe gap to -9 Vdc (approx. 1.27 mm / 50 mils) for radial vibration applications. Torque to 12–15 N·m. Maintain minimum 50 mm bend radius for cable routing. For field wiring, use 0.2–1.5 mm² (16–24 AWG) 3-conductor shielded triad cable. Maximum field wiring length: 305 m (1,000 ft).
Engineering Advantages
Patented TipLoc molding provides robust bond between probe tip and body. CableLoc design delivers 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength. Thicker PPS encapsulation and larger diameter case offer superior durability against physical abuse. Optional FluidLoc prevents oil leakage through cable interior. Extended temperature range options available for high-temperature applications.
Technical FAQs
Q1: How to set the correct probe gap?
A1: Adjust the probe to achieve -9 Vdc output at the Proximitor sensor. This corresponds to the recommended 1.27 mm (50 mils) nominal gap for radial vibration measurements.
Q2: What is the maximum field wiring length?
A2: The maximum recommended field wiring length between the Proximitor sensor and the monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet). Longer lengths may cause signal rolloff at high frequencies.
Q3: Can this probe be used in high-temperature environments?
A3: Standard probe supports -52°C to +177°C. For applications up to +218°C at the probe tip, order the Extended Temperature Range (ETR) option. Note: exposing the probe below -34°C may cause premature pressure seal failure.
