Installation Guidelines (Field Engineer Notes)

Chassis Installation: Insert module into any vacant slot in SLC 500 chassis. Power must be removed before installation to prevent electrical arcing.

Wiring: Use 14 AWG (2 mm) cables for signal termination. Connect sourcing field devices to input terminals. Common terminal is shared for all 8 channels.

Voltage Check: Verify 10-30V DC between input and common. Off-state voltage must be below 5V DC to be recognized as OFF.

Arcing Prevention: Do not remove or insert module with power applied. Electrical arcing can cause personal injury and damage contacts.
