Key Features

  • Provides regulated power to 3500 monitoring system rack
  • Low voltage AC input range 85-132V AC
  • Single-supply configuration (top slot only)
  • Compact form factor for standard 3500 rack installation
  • Reliable power delivery for monitoring system components

Installation Guidelines (Field Engineer Notes)

Slot Placement: Top slot must contain the power supply module. Bottom slot remains empty for single-supply configuration. Do not install modules in the bottom slot when using single-supply setup.

Wiring: Use 14 AWG minimum for AC input wiring. Torque terminals to 0.8 N·m (7 in·lb). Connect earth ground directly to the chassis ground lug before energizing.

Voltage Verification: Measure incoming AC at the terminal block before inserting the module. Verify 85-132V AC between L1 and L2. Do not apply DC voltage to AC-rated terminals.

Current Budget: Full rack current draw for universal AC is 2.8A RMS maximum. Calculate total rack load before adding expansion modules to avoid overloading the supply.

Redundancy: For redundant configurations, use option 02 in the bottom slot with a second power supply. This module uses single-supply only.

FAQs

Q1. Can I add a second power supply later for redundancy?
A1. No. This configuration (bottom slot option 01) is fixed for single-supply use. You cannot retrofit a second supply into the bottom slot without replacing the unit with a dual-supply option.

Q2. What wire gauge should I use for AC input?
A2. Use 14 AWG minimum for AC input wiring to handle the 2.8A current draw. Terminals accept up to 12 AWG. Torque to 0.8 N·m.

Q3. How do I verify the module is supplying correct voltage?
A3. Check the front panel LED. Green indicates normal operation. Measure +24V DC on the backplane test points with a multimeter. If LED is off, check AC input voltage and fuse condition.
