Technical FAQs
Q1. Do I need external power for short cable runs?
A1. No. For runs under 50 meters, the CPU powers the BC820 via the CEX-Bus. Use external 24V for runs over 50 meters or for power redundancy.
Q2. Can I use a standard straight CAT6 cable for the RCU Control Link?
A2. No. The BC820 requires a shielded crossover cable wired T568A to T568B. A straight cable will not work.
Q3. Is the BC820 approved for Zone 1 hazardous locations?
A3. No. The BC820 carries cULus Class 1 Zone 2 certification only. It is not rated for Zone 1.
