Installation Guidelines (Field Engineer Notes)
Slot Placement: Top and bottom slots both require High Voltage DC supplies. Ensure both modules are properly seated and locked.
Wiring: Use 14 AWG minimum for DC input wiring. Connect positive to L1 and negative to L2. Torque terminals to 0.8 N·m (7 in·lb). Connect earth ground to chassis ground lug before energizing.
Voltage Verification: Measure incoming DC at the terminal block before inserting modules. Verify 88-140V DC between L1 and L2. Polarity must be correct.
Redundancy: Dual supplies provide hot-standby redundancy. If one supply fails, the second continues powering the rack without interruption.
Fuse Check: Each supply has internal fuses. Before replacing a module, check AC/DC input and fuse condition on the front panel.
FAQs
Q1. Can I mix AC and DC supplies in this configuration?
A1. No. This configuration uses High Voltage DC in both slots. Mixing AC and DC supplies requires a different part number with appropriate slot codes.
Q2. What is the maximum rack load for dual DC supplies?
A2. Each DC supply provides 2.5A maximum. Dual supplies share the load. Total rack current should not exceed 5A.
Q3. How do I test redundancy operation?
A3. Remove one supply while the rack is running. The second supply should maintain power with no interruption. Green LED on the remaining supply stays lit. Replace the removed supply within 30 seconds.
