Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley 1794-IT8 is an 8-channel Thermocouple/mV Analog Input Module for the Flex I/O system. It supports thermocouple types J, K, E, R, N, S, B, C, T, and L, plus ±76.5mV signals. With 16-bit resolution and 2.384 microvolt typical accuracy, it delivers precise temperature measurement in industrial applications.

Core Functionality

The 1794-IT8 interfaces directly with grounded or ungrounded thermocouples and millivolt transducers. It communicates with PLCs via block transfer programming, moving configuration words and input data between the module and the PLC data table. Two cold-junction compensators mount on the terminal base for accurate reference. The module requires key switch Position 3 on the terminal base for safe mounting.

Installation Guide

Rotate the terminal base keyswitch to Position 3 before inserting the 1794-IT8. Mount the two cold-junction compensators (969424-0) in their designated positions on the terminal base. Connect thermocouple or millivolt wiring, observing polarity for ±76.5mV inputs. Configure the module via block transfer programming in the PLC. Ensure 24V DC supply is connected. Supports both grounded and ungrounded thermocouples.
